"i wish. i miss that guy."
Yeah, I know. I mean, how often in life do you get to correspond with a plagiarizing gay neurosurgeon who's hot enough to pose for GQ? Was it ever determined if EF was even a guy?

just about a half an hour ago i'm in my kitchen cooking dinner and i look out my window.
my kitchen is in the back of my house and i can see the large retention pond from my window.
what do i see but four kids (2 girls and 2 boys) around my oldest son's age out on the ice.
Crazy, huh? Sounds more like stupid. I'm glad you said something though. I'd want someone to speak to my kid if they ever saw her doing something idiotic. (Not that she would, being perfect and all. ;-)
hi hempy, how are you doing?
pop in and let us know.. happy birthday to you.
happy birthday to you.
Thanks, everyone! Last night was bad, but now that I'm not in my 30s anymore, I'm handling this quite maturely. Gettin' my drink on (designated driver just walked in the door), while listening to one of my favorite bands in a dive bar. Yeah.
El K - Now that I'm 40, my hemp is stale. I need to re-up.
i consider brooke my friend - but two weeks from now i will be rooting against your bears, babe!!!.
what a finish for the colts - bout time.
i have been waiting for them to get to the "show" since they moved to indiana.. go colts!
"I swear after Benson made that touch down giving the Bears a 18 point lead, I got down on my hands and knees and started to cry "Their going to make it, their going to make it."....lol"
I hear ya. I cried a little, too. That game really got to me yesterday, because all I could think about was growing up in those below zero Illinois winters where every Sunday, we'd all bust our asses to get out of the KH and make it home in time for the kickoff. I know all my family was watching it together yesterday. I almost called them, but... you know.
example....a cop pulls you over for a broken taillight or some other very minor infraction.
he says he is just going to give you a warning, then says something like...."hey, you don't have any rockets or explosives in your trunk do you?
" you of course say no, then he says "mind if i look?
I didn't realize you could say "no" until I started watching "Cops". ;-)
If you're not doing anything illegal (or maybe even if you are) and a police officer asks to see your I.D., do you have to show it?
yesterday being mlk's birthday, we probably all heard snippets of his deservedly famous "i have a dream" speech, on the news, or at news websites.
i had never taken the time to read or listen to it all, so when i found the text along with a you tube of him speaking, i blogged it.
but i came across this one today, and it made me think; this is the mlk speech that an america stuck in iraq needs to hear the most.
This is the message of the great Buddhist leaders of Vietnam. Recently one of them wrote these words, and I quote:
Each day the war goes on the hatred increases in the heart of the Vietnamese and in the hearts of those of humanitarian instinct. The Americans are forcing even their friends into becoming their enemies. It is curious that the Americans, who calculate so carefully on the possibilities of military victory, do not realize that in the process they are incurring deep psychological and political defeat. The image of America will never again be the image of revolution, freedom, and democracy, but the image of violence and militarism (unquote).
Wow.
I speak as one who loves America, to the leaders of our own nation: The great initiative in this war is ours; the initiative to stop it must be ours.
Amen.
my son, joshua - the 3 year old, loves the us flag (he has a couple mini ones), any map of the united states (even the little weather map in the newspaper), the statue of liberty (likes to pose as such and is fixated on looking a picture of said statue) and is now starting to take an interest in the federal buildings in d.c.. we really don't know that to think about this other than keeping him supplied with maps, flags, and pictures of the statue of liberty.. what do you all think?.
josie.
"I don't know how it started but that's his woman now. He actually kissed a picture of it today."
That's too cute. If there's a teacher supply store in your town, you might want to see what they have to offer in the preK section.
ok, well, mom called.. she left a message.
my cphone got saturated with chocolate milk and the screen is no longer working, and the battery is not charging right.
(blame it on the kids) so i didn't know she had called.
She wouldn't need an SSN to remove your name from anything, only to add it, like as a beneficiary on her 401k.
yesterday was my crappy birthday, http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/20/127389/1.ashx and while the evening went along, i realized something.
i've been out of the watchtower for about 6 years now and i still don't enjoy the holidays or my birthday.
i can't recall one time saying to myself, "wow, that was so much fun.
Ditto. My daughter's birthday and Mother's Day are my two favorite days of the year.
I've enjoyed the last two Christmases for some of the same reasons you listed, Xena. Setting up our tiny pink tinsel tree, collecting new ornaments, etc. (I was going to say putting up the lights on the house, but they haven't come down since the first party I hosted.) I feel absolutely no compulsion to be drawn into gift exchanges with every person I've ever met. I buy gifts for my daughter and that's it. No guilt here about not reciprocating, because I simply can't afford it. And what's the point of giving a gift if it's based on who gave you a gift last year?
Little Drummer Boy - awesome post. That's what it's about for me, too. My daughter gave me a photo she took of herself with a poem she composed on the back - priceless.
it makes me wonder how i would have handled it if i was a witness?
would i have called?
she's a woman of particular faith; and it's too late for a conversion, and she gets a ticket to the new system anyway, so what a convenient excuse to do nothing.
(((Mark))) and (((Betsy))) This is so sad, but I'm glad you called her and I hope you do go to see her. (I never knew that about 9/11 - we were trying to call, I promise.)
